Pillar Church — Children's Ministries
There are only 9 weeks left until Spring! While we look forward to warm weather there are some great opportunities to get together as families to eat, learn more about the God we love, worship and have fun.
On Wednesday February 25th at 5:30 pm Kara Powell, the author of “Sticky Faith” will be speaking at Pillar Church as part of the World Christian Lecture Series. You are invited to attend this lecture and a potluck dinner after. She is passionate about helping parents to equip their teens with the life long faith they will need. Childcare will be provided for babies and children from 0-5th grade on the lower level during the lecture, from 5:15 to 6:30pm. For additional information about the author and her book please see: http://stickyfaith.org/author/kara-powell
RSVP by February 15th to email@example.com or sign-up in the lobby!
Please join us on Wednesday, February 18th at 5:30 for a special Ash Wednesday service. We will have a soup supper together first, followed by a child-friendly Ash Wednesday service and finally a family project. We will make a simple Easter tree project that will help focus our hearts on the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. There is an Easter devotional, “Trail to the Tree,” by Ann Voskamp that will accompany the project that can be taken home. We will be done by 7:00 pm.
On Friday March 6th at 6:30 pm we will have our first “Minute to Win It” Winter Games. Meet in the Fellowship Hall for a fun time of challenging games based on the TV show. Our evening will be family friendly with games that are planned for all age groups. Bring your families’ favorite snack to share and something to drink will be provided. Due to some severe and life-threatening allergies please do not bring anything with nuts, tree nuts or coconut or shellfish. Thank you for your understanding.
The “Minute to Win It” family game night needs some folks to help in order to make the night run smoothly! If you would like to be involved please contact Becky firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
In Sunday school we are focusing in on our local project for the Holland Rescue Mission. The first part of the project is new sock donations which will finish on February 15th. Your children can bring in their socks and put them in the sock drawer near the sign in table. Our next focus will be “Undy Sunday”. We will again support the Holland Rescue mission by collecting new underwear for all ages. The target date for this will be Sunday, March 22. More information will follow about this later. Our final part in the local project will be announced later in March. Stay tuned!
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I would be happy to speak with you. If you would like to help plan or assist with any of these events let me know. Many hands make light work!
