Two Refugee Care Events in June

Refugee Care Meeting

Our world is in the midst of the biggest refugee crisis since WWII, and our community has said YES to the call to engage in this crisis.  Please join us in the basement of Pillar on Saturday 18 June from 10am-12pm to hear more about and discuss how refugee care is taking shape in our community.  Find out more about the family with whom we are working, hear from those among us who are actively working in refugee care, and discover ways you can be involved.  All are welcome, and childcare will be provided.  Please RSVP (especially for childcare) to Kat Schulte at

Refugee Care Movie Viewing

Join us on Thursday 30 June from 5:30-8:00pm for a viewing of The Good Lie, a 2014 movie starring Reese Witherspoon and a strong cast of actual Sudanese refugees.  The film is about, “A group of Sudanese refugees given the chance to resettle in America arrive in Kansas City, Missouri, where their encounter with an employment agency counselor forever changes all of their lives.”  We will have a quick, light pizza dinner at 5:30, with childcare and the viewing following at 6pm.  Parents, please be aware the film is rated PG-13 and covers sensitive material.  Please RSVP to Kat Schulte at
