City Groups

These 3 B’s help City Groups to provide small, intimate settings built on a foundation of love and trust for one another. To create a feeling of belonging, of community, of connection. We strive to be a community where your name is known, your story is heard, and your questions are honored. City Groups provides a space where we can accomplish that! It's a space to celebrate together, to grieve together, to adventure together; a place of Belonging. To journey alongside one another spiritually, asking and working through the hard questions along the way; a place to believe together . And to come together to love our community through prayer and service; a place to Be for something greater than ourselves.

There are multiple ways to start or join a City Group:

1. Form your own with two or three other individuals or couples from the Pillar community. Get in touch with the administrative staff at Pillar to learn next steps (learn more about the vision, receive our resource packet, and more).
2. Participate in a connection event (held twice a year) to meet others interested in City Groups with a goal that you will naturally connect with others with similar interests/seasons of life. Our team at Pillar will facilitate the event and connection as needed.
3. Email trish@pillarchurch.com to be added to a list for communications.

There are countless ways in which City Groups can serve corporately in the Holland community in order to live into Pillar's vision to be a church for the city. There are also a number of ways in which a City Group can serve at Pillar too, through serving communion, providing hospitality at events, and more! City Group leaders will be given access to a working list of these opportunities.

Pillar wants every City Group to thrive and prays that every individual in them draws closer to Jesus through one another. Each City Group leader will be assigned a City Group Shepherd, somebody within the Pillar community who has a pastoral heart, who will be there to offer a listening ear and guidance, and who is passionate about the health of each group. He or she will check in with leaders periodically to offer support where needed. The Pastoral Team at Pillar has also assembled a list of resources that will be made available to the leaders. This list includes articles, book study options, and more!
