“The hour had come…”
John’s Gospel tells the story of the redeeming work of Jesus Christ in the world, the light that shines in the darkness and no darkness can overcome it. The unfolding of that story gains traction with each interaction Jesus has along the way until the decisive moment when he chooses the self-emptying way of the cross. In that moment, he’s with the disciples at the table, his last meal, and John records, “Jesus knew that his hour had come… having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.” The hour had come. Join us this Lenten season as we approach with Jesus the hour that changes all of time. – Pastor John Brown
