WEEK FOUR: July 16, Covenant

Speaker: Rev. Jennifer Ryden, Senior Chaplain

Testimony: Anna Hoskins

Why did God choose one nation—and what does their story mean for the rest of us?
Join us for the next talk in our series unpacking the sweeping story of Scripture through N.T. Wright’s 5-Act Drama. In Act Three: Covenant, we explore how God launches His rescue mission not with a dramatic global reset, but by forming a covenant community tasked with reflecting His justice, mercy, and presence to the world.
From Abraham to the exile, from Sinai to the prophets, Israel’s story is one of calling, struggle, failure, and hope—a story that builds anticipation for what’s to come.

On Wednesday, July 16, we will be welcoming Rev. Jennifer Rydan, Senior Chaplain at Hope College as we discover how the story of one people becomes the foundation for the redemption of all people. We will begin with dinner on the Pillar lawn at 5:30pm followed by our talk in the sanctuary at 6:30. Families are encouraged to enjoy dinner together on the lawn – check in for the Pillar Kids Creation Class (nursery, preschool, and K-5) begins at 6:15 at the Lower Level Welcome Desk.
