Common Ground: Ministry for Moms

Image

Common Ground is a ministry, specifically for Moms of children from birth through grade school, grounded in Christ and intentional about community. This ministry provides space for connection with a balance between large group conversations and deeper dives in small groups facilitated by Mentor Moms. The structure and rhythm allows for bi-weekly study groups and also gives way to optional Kiddos & Co. playdates and occasional offsite gatherings (without children) on the alternating weeks.

Common Ground is a space for friendship, honesty, formation, and encouragement as we walk our journeys together.

This study will be offered at Pillar at two different times, every other Wednesday beginning September 16 and wrapping up December 16:

  • 9-11am – Brunch and coffee will be served and small groups will be facilitated by Mentor Moms. Childcare is provided.
  • 6:30pm – 8pm – This evening version offers light snacks and rich conversation guided by leadership (no childcare)

Specific Meeting Dates:

  • September 16, 30
  • October 14, 28
  • November 11
  • December 2, 16

All are invited to participate in Kiddos & Co. playdates from 9-11am on the alternating Wednesdays where the Pillar Kids classrooms will be available for play!

This semester, we will be reading John Mark Comer’s book, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. On point with our fall theme of “The Speed of Love”, Comer’s “anti-hurry manifesto” reminds us that “Jesus remains the most brilliant, most insightful, most thought-provoking teacher to ever walk the earth. And he walked slowly.”

Please register HERE if you plan to participate in one of these studies.
