Christ in the City – Week 3: Presence Across Difference with Dr. Carlos Thompson
This week we will be continuing to talk about presence with people: ourselves and others. Last week counselor Scott Courey led us in a discussion about presence with our own stories. Now, Dr. Carlos Thompson will lead us in a discussion around presence across differences. We encourage you to bring your companion journal as well as an open mind.
Dr. L. S. Carlos Thompson serves as Assistant Professor of Theology and Ethics at Western Theological Seminary. His scholarship explores how the Church can more faithfully discern and respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit, particularly in contexts of suffering, chronic illness, and disability. A Charismatic-Reformed Pentecostal theologian, Dr. Thompson brings both academic and lived experience to his work. He holds degrees from Southeastern University, the University of South Florida, and the University of Aberdeen, where he earned both an M.Th. in Ministry and Mission and a Ph.D. in Divinity.
